Here we have a few Athearn SW7B (calf) shells numbered 1203, no name present. These shells are right out of a factory storage box and ready for you to complete using your own frame and other parts. Only one road number in each scheme available, markings as shown.  Please see photos for the exact item you will receive, they are the best description available.  We added one photo of prototype calf in service with the control unit or cow. The photo is for an example only and is not a part of this offer.

A little Athearn history:
When first introduced, Athearn called this a SW1500 Calf shell, they sort of jumped the gun and got an old set of EMD drawings and this is what they came out with, both in a cow and a calf unit thinking it was the forthcoming SW1500. Well since no good deed ever goes unpunished EMD changed everything from the old SW7/SW1200 body type when they made their SW1500's.  The newer larger hood was needed for the then new 645 components within.  Athearn called their model the SW1500 for many years and only changed the name when they brought out the correct shell circa 1989. This older style shell represents either a SW7B or SW1200B, or at least a fairly close rendition to what once was a very popular yard switcher from EMD. Despite whatever shortcoming the shells have, they still look pretty good for their age, and look at home in any 1950's to much later model train layout. Though these are the old "Wide Body" era shells, they look okay with more modern units because the "B" end was made to about the correct scale width, so they do not look too out of place with more modern units. The actual EMD SW1200's were made between 1954 and 1966.

Yes, we are happy to give you a combined shipping total, but you should e-mail us and request it when you are all finished shopping.  We try and watch for this, but are far from perfect.
Please note, due to time constraints and other business responsibilities, we close our eBay business every week at noon on Friday and then re-open for shipping and such late on Sunday. We ship as soon as possible after you pay for your items, however sometimes next day is just not possible if our mailman fails to honor the pickup requests.
